Communication

  • the activity of communicating; the activity of conveying information; “they could not act without official communication from Moscow”
  • something that is communicated by or to or between people or groups
  • a connection allowing access between persons or places; “how many lines of communication can there be among four people?”; “a secret passageway provided communication between the two rooms”
  • be in verbal contact; interchange information or idea
  • I’ve been down in Jacksonville Florida training for a management position since my birthday, which was the 9th of this month which is marking the end of the year 2009, and one I’m not having any fun at all, but I’m learning things; some of which is not even taught to me directly, but observed.

My trainers are fantastic people and they are amongst the best at their perspective jobs, but one thing that they lack is communication.  They don’t communicate well at all and they tend to lean on assumption way to often.  Well assumption is not the safely or most reliable way of running any operation, whether it be a restaurant or a multi million dollar cooperation.  It’s simple; to communicate information has to be sent, and (here’s the missing key) acknowledged.  Without that last step communication has not occurred.  For example, if I ask you to do something for me, and there is no response from you, then how am I to know that you heard anything I said???  There is no way for you to know, which means that you haven’t communicated with me at all.

I say all that to say this, lack of effective communication is the cause of almost all disputes in all aspects of life.  Do you really think that someone would purposefully attempt to disrespect you??? Don’t get me wrong, it can, has, and will continue to happen, but most often it was a lack of understanding between the parties involved, and that lack of understanding comes from a lack of communication, and communication is the only one way one can get an understanding of what goes on in the mind of another.

    Communicate people!!!

    • The subsequent time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I mean, I do know it was my choice to read, however I truly thought youd have one thing attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you can repair in the event you werent too busy looking for attention.
